Component 2C is focused on the creation of a timed out schedule made by the educator for the class. The schedule is made to keep both the teacher and the students on task and completing goals in an efficient timely fashion. This will help students to get in the habit of using their time wisely. Component 2C is essential because even when students have substitute teachers or guests in the classroom, the class will seem as if it runs itself. A good handle on the classroom procedures will make transition times minimal.
The elements associated with Component 2C consist of the following five items: management of instructional groups, management of transitions, management of materials and supplies, performance of non-instructional duties, and supervision of volunteers and paraprofessionals. In order to show competency in Component 2C some artifacts that can be provided include: a written down schedule for the students and guests of the classroom to see or even a chart of each of the student's behaviors in accordance with the schedule.
