Component 4D is a great introduction to being involved as an active role model to students outside of the classroom. Component 4D's main focus is on the activeness of the educator not just in the classroom, but also in the professional community outside of the classroom through out the work place. This is important because this will build our culture for learning and encouraging Component 2A, Creating an Environment of Respect and Rapport. This also encourages Collaboration between fellow co-workers on how to run a classroom more smoothly.
There are four elements in this component: 1. Relationships with colleagues, 2. Involvement in a culture of professional inquiry, 3. Service to the school, and 4. Participation in school and district projects. Various artifacts include a resume that contains a list of all activities, letter of recommendation for co-workers of involvement in and out of the classroom and service works done.
