As Component 3A explains, it is vital to communicate directions to students. A great tool that teachers can utilize to communicate with students is the program Remind. Creating an account is super easy! simply go to https://www.remind.com/ , click "Sign Up". The website will then prompt the user to enter their email, then their first/last name, and to create a password. After this screen, the user will then select the appropriate affiliation (teacher/ student/ parent). Next, the website requires one to put in their title (Mrs./ Mr./ Ms. etc..), then the name of the class, then all that is left to do is to enter all of the enrolled students.
What makes Remind great for any teacher's curriculum is how easily it fits into the Danielson framework of teaching. Remind promotes a growth mindset, utilized the Four C's, and the SAMR model, and also is the perfect example for Component 3B (to see the full write up for Component 3A please go here). The fact that Remind is so versatile is what I really enjoyed about this artifact; knowing that I could truly apply this in the everyday flow of the classroom. Component 3A is all about communicating to students through efficient directions. Remind directly sends your directions and reminders to the students whenever you would like, there's even a way t time when the texts will be sent out!
Remind promotes the Growth Mindset because no matter how many times the educator repeats the direction the text will still be sent out to continue to give students the best chance they have at success. Remind fits into the Four C's in the category of Communication, since the educator continuously is in contact with the students and the students have the option to reply back with questions or comments. Finally, this program fits into the SAMR Model through the "A", Augmentation. This means that Remind is acting as a "direct tool substitute, with functional improvement."
