Component 3B is all about how to properly use the techniques provided to run a discussion properly with an efficient use or questioning. This is very important because this can create true leaders in the classroom. This holds true because students will learn how to ask critical thinking questions, how to give unbiased diplomatic answers, and still be able to politely agree with or refute other's opinions.
The elements that are associated with this component include: 1. quality of question and prompts, 2. discussion techniques, and finally, 3. student participation. Various artifacts that can be utilized include: a use of Socratic seminars, having the students create pieces (such as essays, drawings, or poems), posing critical thinking responses, or even facilitating student debates.
